Hospital Purchases Glidescopes through Community Donations
Two lifesaving instruments are currently available for patient care in both the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department, thanks to the generous donations from our community to the Westerly Hospital Auxiliary’s Lights of Love campaign this past winter.
The glide scope is a video laryngoscope used to directly visualize a patient’s airway and is mainly used during difficult intubations. The Westerly Hospital previously had one glide scope in the Operating Room.
Through The Westerly Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Lights of Love program, each winter, the community is invited to honor or remember a loved one by purchasing a “Love Light” in their name.
