Golf Tournament Raises Cancer Care Funds

The Charity Classic Golf Tournament, held recently at Shelter Harbor golf course, welcomed 83
golfers and 190 guests for the dinner and auction. More than $250,000 was raised before expenses.
The tournament benefits both The Westerly Hospital Foundation and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute –
the organizations where co-chair Dick Anthony’s cancer was detected and the facility where he was
treated. The Westerly Hospital is extremely grateful to co-chairs Dick Anthony and Bonnie Hamill who
worked countless hours to make the event such a success. Dick and Bonnie reached out to many friends
and family to assist them with the many tasks involved in coordinating this event. Committee Members
included: Deirdre Casey, Joe Cugini, Margie Field, Martha Hosp, Bob Malley, and Nick Stahl. The
Committee was assisted by: Susan Anthony, Mark Avery, Chris and Susan Bond, Michael Grogan, John
Hamill, Constance Kristofik, and Tom Lloyd. The Westerly Hospital Foundation and The Westerly Hospital
sincerely thanks everyone who organized the event, helped sponsor the tournament, advertised in the
program, contributed and bought auction items, as well as those worked at the event, and the many
