Founders Society
Founders Society members are the leaders of our Annual Fund program.  Membership starts at $500. At the new “Chairman’s Circle” level of $1,000 or more members will received special additional recognition.

Cornerstone Society
Individuals who have, verbally or in writing, indicated they have named the Hospital in their will, or included the Hospital in their estate plans, or have established charitable gift annuities become members of The Westerly Hospital Foundation’s Cornerstone Society. Members gather annually to hear about the current status of The Westerly Hospital and its future goals and plans. Members of the Cornerstone Society provide significant long-term support for the Hospital while assisting donors in achieving their personal tax objectives, and/or maintaining lifetime income.

2011 Annual Fund
This year, our $1.5 million Annual Fund goal is being designated to the development of the Electronic Health Record and new digital cardiac ultrasound technology. Gifts of all sizes are required to meet these and the many other needs of our patients. It’s a community-wide effort. Smaller contributions add up, and the largest contributions lead the way in providing access for everyone to the best possible community hospital, close to home.

"Echo cardiography, very rapidly, with great accuracy and in an absolutely non-invasive way, provides extremely valuable information for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions.   The latest Digital Echocardiography provides significantly improved image quality, allowing us to diagnose and treat the cardiac conditions of thousands of patients every year with excellent accuracy.  The immense digital storage capacity allows for immediate retrieval of images and gives us the opportunity to share them with tertiary medical centers for tele-consultation and timely transfer when surgical treatment is indicated.”

- George Bourganos, M.D.  Cardiologist, President of The Westerly Hospital Medical Staff

Memorials & Tributes
Tribute gifts are a thoughtful way to recognize a friend or family member's special occasion or to honor the memory of a loved one. Those who have gifts made in their memory will be displayed our Angel of Hope Memorial Garden for two years, after which the plaque will be permanently placed in the Hospital Chapel. All those honored with gifts made in memory of or in honor of are listed in the Hospital's Annual Report and other publications. When making a gift, please let us know if you would like us to notify the family and their contact information.

Planned Gifts

Some gift arrangements can provide a stream of income to donors and/or their spouses for their lifetime or for a specified number of years. Examples of Planned Gifts include: charitable gift annuities, remainder and lead trusts, simple bequests, and the naming of The Westerly Hospital as a full or partial beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan or insurance policy.
